Its all about education!

Yes colleagues, its all about education!

Well educated citizens are the main pillar for a well functioning economy and a solid democracy. It doesn’t matter the economic or political beliefs where majorities elect society leaders. Actually, is positive to have diversity of opinions and be able to try different solutions to societal problems. There is always value in trying new and fresh ideas when well analysed and solidly backed.

A well educated population will be able to correct mistakes or deviations without too much trauma in a relatively short period of time (ie 3-6 years), while  preserving long term development and quality of life for its citizens.

On the contrary, as experience shows, countries with less-educated majorities will  be more vulnerable to populist governments with poor economic policies having  more difficulties to revert bad decisions and potentially creating the long cycles of poverty and downturns as seen in cases like Venezuela or Argentina.

In my view, all countries should have a solid education system with well represented institutions able to include all citizens and being neutral in ideological trends. These well educated population can take their own mature decisions. A good example of this concept can be seen when comparing Western European countries in the EU and economies like Venezuela or Argentina. The first group shows a well educated population with  solid institutions.

See the United Nations world education index

Where Venezuela and Argentina occupied in 2018 the 96th and 48th places and Spain and Germany occupy 25th and 4th places.

Even though both economies can be exposed to bad leadership from time to time,  is the ability to correct wrong policies what makes the difference in the outcome of their long term quality of life. The well educated majorities rocks!.
